hardware upgrade

Firstly, I had to choose some Random Access Memory that would meet the MoD project requirements and that would be easy to optimise. After carrying out some research, I decided upon: Corsair 2GB Twin2X XMS2 DDR2 which I then ordered it from the cheapest supplier by next day delivery.

Below is a picture of the product in its packaging.

I then unplugged the power supply from the back of the computer and opened the base unit case using a screwdriver. Next I removed the previous 1GB of RAM and inserted the new pieces of memory.

I then reconnected all the components, plugged in the power supply cable and started the machine.

With 2Gigabytes of RAM installed, this system is incredibly fast! John is now be able to perform massive multi-tasking and compile large amounts of code much faster than before. He is therefore ready to work on the MoD project.
