creating the dummy data set
To help check that the database functions correctly and efficiently I will create a dummy data set in Notepad and import it before importing the real data set. In this dummy data set I plan to have 5 records that should be accepted during the importation process and 5 records that should be rejected.
I believe that this method of testing is the most effective because it is using the same technique of inputation that the real data will be using. If the 5 records that I expect to be accepted are not then I will know that there is a fundamental with the database design - hold your breath!
