making a purchase (part 2)
browsing for items and adding them to basket...
From the account homepage I then navigated to the first item I wanted to purchase. This item was in the 'Components' store in the 'Memory' subcategory under 'Matched Pair Kits'.

I added this item too my shopping basket using Quick cart. Then I navigated to the 'Removable Storage' section of the 'Components' store and found the next product I wanted to purchase. It was under 'Floppy Disk Drives'.

This time I wanted to by two of them, so I entered 2 in the quantity box and added them to my shopping basket using Quick cart. The Quick cart can be seen it the top-right corner of this page.
evaluation of quick cart...
When turned on, the Quick cart will silently add products to the user's shopping basket, so that when they add a product they will not be taken to the shopping basket screen, instead they will remain on the same screen and the cart summary on the right will update accordingly.
This, I suggest, is a terrific development. The best thing about it is that it is always highly visible to the user. It helps keep track of what the user has in their basket, and, more importantly - the total cost of everything. Another thing is that the user, if they prefer, need not have it turned on. Nearly all of Ebuyer's features have that same flexibility. This feature in particular though, allows the customer to purchase products in the least number of clicks possible.
