Questions for the client...
Below are the questions I asked Mrs Hollands (they have GUI focus):
- What do you think about the size of the window and text boxes?
- Is inputting both of a week's sermons at the same time effective or inappropriate?
- Is the amount of information on the form helpful enough?
- Are the headings to each part of the form distinctive?
- What are your general thoughts on the layout of the form?
I also asked if there were any other issues she had with the design.
Analysis of feedback
The client's feedback was very positive but she did have some points of concern.
She also did specify the following significant changes that she wanted to be made.
- The date's input textbox field should be split into three (dd, mm, yyyy);
- a button that will generate the urls of the audio files using the inputed date data must be made;
- more information about each individual sermon must be retained by the system;
- sometimes only one sermon a week is recorded so pairing them up is not suitable.
Other than those concerns she was very pleased with the progress I had made by this initial prototype.
- She especially liked the way the way the sections were clear framed and given titles.
My own evaluation of version 1.0 - how well does it meet requirements?
Because I am using the evolutionary-delivery model, this prototype does not even come near to meeting the requirements defined in the functional specification. In point of fact that wasn't its intention. However, it does "retrieve the sermon information" (the first processing requirement) effectively and outputs changes made to the . This gives me confidence in refining the code and the form layout knowing that interaction with XML has been achieved using VBA.
Action to be taken/improvements to be made/intelligence gained
- The form must be for individual sermons only (version 2.0 GUI design route must be taken) - this also means that I will have to create radio button to give the user a choice of time of day.
- I must design and build a button that will speed up the user's inputting of the mp3 and Ogg Vorbis Universal Resource Locators.
- Split the date field into three seperate text boxes.
